An update on one Sheffield Wednesday transfer has now been provided, and a deal is close.

Danny Rohl has returned to Sheffield Wednesday after an extended break and looks set to be working with a reduced squad this summer.

The Owls remain under embargo and thus can’t sign any new players on loan or in cash deals.

To aid their ongoing financial problems, the club are recouping some money from player sales this summer.

Sutura Kakay has agreed to join Southampton, and the Yorkshire club will be due compensation for the young talent once a deal is over the line.

Elsewhere, Djeidi Gassama’s transfer to Rangers is expected to be completed soon, and an update on the situation has now been shared.

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has praised Gassama while also slamming owner Dejphon Chansiri for the ‘mess’ his club are in.

Now, after news broke of the Wednesday ace’s move to Rangers earlier this week, fans have been asking when it will be done.

And Sheffield Wednesday journalist Joe Crann has now provided an update after receiving questions about the Gassama deal.

Taking to X/Twitter, he wrote: “Had a lot of questions about Gassama tonight, and the answer is pretty simple…”

“It’ll be done when it’s all signed off by everybody. Everything was/is agreed, but no deal is done until it’s done.”

Anthony Musaba Sheffield Wednesday update

Another Sheffield Wednesday player is close to completing a transfer and is expected to sign a deal soon.

Anthony Musaba is moving to Turkey and will link up with Samsunspor, the club’s owner has reportedly said.

Crann reported: “Yuksel Yildirim, the owner of Samsunspor, has just said that Musaba will undergo a medical with the Turkish club tomorrow, with the contract set to be signed on Saturday.”
