English rock band Wunderhorse will no longer be performing at the TRNSMT Festival on Saturday, July 12, due to illness. The festival organisers shared the news on their official social media channels earlier today.
The popular band was scheduled to perform on the festival’s main stage from 2:10 pm to 2:50 pm on Saturday, but organisers have confirmed that English singer-songwriter and Last Shadow Puppets front man, Miles Kane, will now be joining the lineup instead.
Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, the official TRSNMT Festival account shared the following statement: “Unfortunately due to illness @wunderhorse are no longer able to play at Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT on Saturday July 12th. However we are buzzing to have the amazing @MilesKaneMusic joining us!
“See you at Glasgow Green.”
Formed in 2020, Wunderhorse – made up of Jacob Slater, Jamie Staples, Harry Fowler, and Seb Byford – has rapidly gained popularity, quickly building a dedicated fan base.
Disappointed fans took to social media to react to the news, as one fan simply stated: “Noooo wtf.” With another penning: “Hope he gets better soon but… NOOOO,” alongside a crying face emoji.
A third fan had said the announcement had “ruined my weekend,” which prompted one user to reply: “There are reasons why people shouldn’t buy festival tickets for one artist.”
A fourth fan showed their disappointment in the lineup stating: “No Wunderhorse. No Kneecap. Gutted.”\

However some fans were extremely pleased by the replacement, as one fan said: “That’s a huge upgrade!!!” as another agreed writing: “I love Wunderhorse but Miles Kane is so much better, easy.”
A third penned: “What a replacement, an absolute GOAT.”
It comes weeks after Irish rappers Kneecap were axed from the TRNSMT line up due to safety concerns from Police Scotland. Back in May, rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh was charged with a terror offence after allegedly waving a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah during a performance last November.

The Belfast trio, made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, have been outspoken critics of the war in Gaza, gaining a lot of public attention.
Instead of playing TRNSMT, the rap trio played a gig at Glasgow’s o2 Academy on Tuesday evening (July 8) to a sold out crowd of 2,500 people. The band had stated they didn’t want to disappoint their fans by not playing a gig in Glasgow at all, claiming Glasgow as one of their favourite cities.
TRNSMT Festival begins today, marking the return of Scotland’s largest music event to Glasgow Green, where more than 150,000 fans are set to enjoy another unforgettable weekend of live music.
This year’s TRNSMT line-up features big names such as 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, Fontaines DC, Snow Patrol and Gracie Abrams.
