Last weekend, after 16 years away, Liam and Noel Gallagher finally took the stage again as they ushered in their Oasis Live 25′ tour with two huge shows in the Welsh capital.

A set bursting at the seams with hits, fans who nabbed a front row seat at Cardiff’s Principality were treated to tracks including Champagne Supernova, Live Forever, Whatever and Roll With It, plus many more in what was an epic first two night of the world tour.

The last time Oasis played in the UK was in August 2009 at the V Festival at Weston Park in Staffordshire.

On August 28, 2009, the band pulled out of their Rock en Seine festival appearance in Paris after a backstage argument forced Liam and Noel, which led to their subsequent split.

When the new tour was announced last summer, there was huge demand from fans, with ten million people trying to secure their spot at one of the 19 UK and Ireland gigs.

When they went on sale in August, tickets sold out the same day and some Oasis fans were left trying to score tickets for day on end.

This weekend, they’re kicking off their Manchester residency, a stint of shows that will see them perform five nights at Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20, before heading to London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

As well as hundreds of signs appearing all around Manchester, a number of murals nodding to the band, and MCR Live ’25, which encompasses music-themed markets, pop-up shops, a festival bar and impromptu performances launching, there’s a variety of guitar-themed artworks and exhibitions take over the city.

Doors opened at Heaton Park at 3pm, with support acts Cast taking to the stage at 6pm, followed by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm. Oasis will be on stage at 8:15pm.

The music will finish at 10:30pm but food vendors will remain open until 11pm.

As long as all guests have access to their own tickets they can arrive at their chosen time. Each ticket has it’s own unique bar code to be scanned on entry.
