It’s been an exciting year since Oasis announced they were reuniting and going on tour, 16 years after their split.

Set to be a busy evening, around 80,000 fans turned up at Heaton Park all clutching their tickets that were announced last August. In the sweltering heat, some fans had been waiting for hours before the gates opened at 3pm.

It was a further 5 hours until the brothers walked on stage, hand in hand as Liam Gallagher held maracas to greet the crowd.

Despite the current heatwave, Liam still wore his famous parka which gave fans plenty to say on social media.

The tour kicked off in Cardiff last week, where the band paid tribute to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota after his tragic death, aged 28. Starting their first of five nights in Manchester, Noel’s tribute to Caroline Aherne was met with support from the crowd.

He dedicated their song Half the World Away to the late The Royle Family star who sadly died in 2016 at 52-years-old following a battle with lung cancer.

Noel stepped up to the mic and said: “This one is for Caroline”. This comes after it was reported that Noel made a generous gesture to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

It has been said that Noel is set to make a donation to the charity following the income made on Oasis’ world tour.

The band haven’t performed together since v Festival in 2009, which led to a backstage fight at a gig in Paris and the band’s split.

In a message on the band’s website the same day, Noel said: “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. “People will write and say what they like but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

“Apologies to all the people who bought tickets to the shows in Paris Konstanz and Milan.” Despite parting ways in 2009, the Gallagher brothers continued to remain relevant and continued their incredible careers as musicians. Noel went on to found the High Flying Birds and achieved chart success with the self titled debut album that included hits such as If I Had A Gun and AKA…. What a Life.”

They skyrocketed to stardom with the release of Definitely Maybe in 1994, which started their long career of success before they called it quits.

The group continued their incredible success with the subsequent releases of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory, Be Here Now, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, Heathen Chemistry, Don’t Believe the Truth and Dig Out Your Soul.
