It is set to be scorching across Merseyside this weekend as the UK is in the grip of a mini-heatwave. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 31C in Liverpool today, Saturday, July 12, dropping slightly to 29C on Sunday, July 13.
Over both days UV levels are going to be “very high” and pollen levels will also be high. According to the Met Office, today’s weather will bring early mist and fog which is expected to quickly clear, leaving clear skies and lengthy spells of strong sunshine through the afternoon with light winds.
The UKHSA has issued amber and yellow heat-health alerts covering the whole of England until July 14. According to the agency’s Weather-Health alerting system ranks, a yellow alert is issued when temperatures are unlikely to impact most people, but could impact those who are particularly vulnerable. It falls below an amber or red alert.
Temperatures are set to cool down slightly from tomorrow, Sunday, July 13, with highs of 29C and warm, sunny spells.
A change in the weather is on the cars early next week. It will be “cloudier and fresher” on Monday (July 14) and Tuesday (July 15) with showers, sometimes heavy and thundery, arriving from the south.
Cooler, more changeable weather will spread across the whole of the UK by midweek.
