Debbie Warburton, who works at Whiston Hospital, received the honour from Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
She was commended for her commitment to maintaining high standards of care, supporting her team and leading by example.
Ms Warburton said: “I was genuinely shocked to hear my name announced, but I am incredibly proud.
“I have worked at the Trust for over 16 years and I am really grateful that I’ve had such amazing support and opportunities throughout my journey as a nurse.
“I work with some amazing colleagues, they motivate and inspire me every day.
“I really try and give 100 per cent to make sure the patients and the staff are really well looked after, so this is a lovely recognition to receive this award.”
She was also praised for creating a kind, open, and inclusive environment in her ward.
The award was presented by actress and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach.
Two other members of staff were shortlisted for the award.
Anthony Robinson, a resident doctor at Southport Hospital, was described as “a credit to his profession” and “one of the most empathetic doctors whose kindness and compassion extends beyond his patients.”
Julie Woosey, a bereavement officer at Whiston Hospital, was commended as “professional, sensitive and compassionate, supporting families through the most difficult times with kindness and empathy.”
