Birmingham City’s pre-season campaign commences in Portugal this evening with a game against seven-time Europa League winners Sevilla.

Chris Davies has put his players through their paces out in Albufeira over the past week and will hope to see the fruits of that labour at Estadio Algarve tonight.

The 30,000-seater stadium will host Blues’ first pre-season match and kick-off is set for 8pm.

Blues supporters can tune into the match on the club’s new in-house TV channel Blues+ at a cost of £4.99.

The likelihood is that Davies will blood some of his new signings. Demarai Gray is the only new addition who hasn’t travelled to Portugal having been given extra time off due to representing Jamaica in the Gold Cup.

While Kanya Fujimoto is believed to be behind his teammates due to an injury picked up at the end of last season, the rest of Blues’ newbies could be involved against Sevilla.

There are some interesting battles to watch out for in goal, where James Beadle will hope to oust last season’s number one Ryan Allsop, and at right-back between Ethan Laird and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the debut of Japanese sensation Kyogo Furuhashi too.
