Imagine a dating app where celebrities and high-flyers mingle. Welcome to Raya, an exclusive platform that’s not for everyone. Bollywood actor Urvashi Rautela recently revealed that she is on Raya, but not for dating. Instead, she uses it for networking and making friends. Rautela also mentioned that Hrithik Roshan and Aditya Roy Kapur are also on the app.
Speaking on the Male Feminist channel that went viral last year, she said, “I’m on Raya, but that’s for friends only. Not another kind of perspective. Hrithik Roshan is there on Raya. I saw Aditya Roy Kapur and so many other celebrities also.”
What is Raya?
Unlike the regular apps, Raya is not accessible to everyone. It is subscription-based and designed primarily for individuals in high-career positions. Founded by Daniel Gendelman in 2014, this exclusive dating app is well-known for drawing celebrities and high-end professionals, as well as for its long waitlist and low acceptance rate.
How to join Raya?
To join the app, you must be suggested by two users. A panel of 500 trusted people then assesses your social media presence based on followers, occupation, lifestyle, and whether you look the part. An anonymous global council reviews applications regularly.
Being a celebrity or influencer helps, but it’s not the only criterion. A blue verification mark, whether on Twitter or Instagram, is supposed to expedite the process, while the number of existing Raya members who follow you is also important.
If you’re looking for a platform to connect with like-minded, high-end individuals, this ‘elite’ app might be worth exploring. However, it is not for everyone; you will need to tick all the right boxes to get in.
Other Similar Applications
While Raya is a popular exclusive dating app, it’s not the only platform catering to a rich clientele. Luxy and JamesEdition are examples of other apps that offer similar features, such as high-end, exclusive dating experiences or marketplaces for luxury goods.
Luxy is another dating app for millionaires, supermodels, celebs, CEOs, and a few other selected individuals. According to The Filthy Rich Guide, it is known as the “Tinder of the elite dating world.
On the other hand, JamesEdition is an online global marketplace for luxury cars, residences, and other items. To buy anything from a private jet to a yacht, the filthy rich use this shopping site that specialises in lavish things and bills itself as “The World’s Largest Luxury Marketplace.”
