The fire had taken hold in the roof of the warehouse, said Jamie Stephenson, operations director at Chambers & Cook Freight.
He told BirminghamLive: “At 4.30am on Sunday the fire alarm was activated. Our on-site security guard saw where it was from and called West Midlands Fire Service.
“By 6.10am it was just a clear-up operation.
“The warehouse was pretty empty at the time thankfully.”

Mr Stephenson continued: “The investigator thinks it may have been ignited by the hot weather over the weekend.
“Potentially, a light fitting may have exploded. The fire came from the roof down.

“The loss of stock has been minimal. The warehouse may have to be taken down and rebuilt.
“I think we have been very lucky. The fire didn’t spread into other buildings and there were two £120,000 cabs next to the building and they seem to be OK but are being checked.
“Yes, there’s damage. Yes, there’s disruption. But no-one has been hurt and that’s the most important thing.”
