Planning documents state that the three-storey building will be repurposed, with the proposals seeking to include six blood bays, one private blood bay, one MRI suite, seven consultation rooms, one ultrasound room, one ultrasound and treatment room, one CT scanning suite and clinical support.
Developers said: “The proposed Museum Street CDC will support those in most need in Ipswich.
“With a seven year life expectancy gap compared to less deprived areas in Suffolk, the CDC will aid in supporting early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases and late-stage cancer diagnosis.
“The Ipswich CDC will diagnose complex health issues earlier, keeping the local population in better health and avoiding onward attendances and admissions to Ipswich Hospital.”
