For those dreaming of true escapism, moving to the countryside might not quite scratch that itch – however a secluded private island just might.

Insh Island is an untouched strip of land nestled in the Inner Hebrides off Scotland’s west coast – and it’s now up for sale at a guide price of £500,000 (which is less than the average London flat price).

The 90-acre piece of land is the very definition of remote – accessible only by private boat or helicopter and located a minimum three-hour drive from the closest city, Glasgow.

But seclusion isn’t the only benefit this piece of land has to offer.

With no major cities in the near vicinity, there is practically no light pollution, which means that the sky at night will be absolutely phenomenal and ideal for stargazing.

During the day, you can spot seals and dolphins leaping through the waves and a host of seabirds flying overhead. There’s also a natural freshwater spring offering crystal-clear drinking water on demand, and caves, sheltered coves and rugged trails around the island ready to be explored.

In other words, Insh is a place where to connect with nature in all its facets.

Being a completely unspoiled piece of land, it also offers enough room to let your imagination run free on it. What will it be; a self-sufficient home for one, with a single house offering and the maximum level of alone time? A tourism-friendly wellness retreat off the Scottish coast? A location for a film set?

The slightly smaller (60 acres), neighbouring island of Easdale, for example, homes a little community, with a Folk Museum, the popular Puffer Bar and Tearoom and the annual World Stone Skimming Championship – the possibilities are endless.

Cameron Ewer, Head of Residential in Scotland, said: “Insh Island represents a truly unique opportunity to acquire one of Scotland’s last untouched private islands.

“With its breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and potential for sustainable development, Insh Island is a sanctuary of peace and natural beauty.”

Insh Island is available with Savills at a guide price of £500,000.
