It’s safe to say that Serena Williams has maintained her incredible physique since stepping away from tennis. The legendary champion, who claimed 23 Grand Slam titles, competed in her final match at the U.S. Open three years ago, falling to Ajla Tomljanovic in a grueling three-set battle.

After that loss, she delivered a tearful goodbye to the crowd at Flushing Meadows. She’s successfully avoided the temptation to make a comeback, and in August 2023, welcomed her second child.

However, according to her most recent Instagram update, the 43-year-old remains committed to maintaining peak physical condition.

On Friday, she posted a collection of photos from her recent gym session on Instagram. Displaying a toned physique with sculpted abs, her caption stated: “Working out and working on my angles.”

Throughout her competitive days, Williams was famous for her powerful build and ability to dominate rivals. She now sports a more streamlined appearance, having shared a video in January last year highlighting her commitment to shedding pounds.

“Alright, I’m getting back into the swing of things,” the 23-time Grand Slam winner declared in an Instagram Reel. “This is not my usual weight, but it’ll do until I get back to where I need to be.”

This fitness revelation arrives as big sister Venus Williams gears up for her next WTA Tour comeback. The 45-year-old has secured a wildcard entry for the DC Open in Washington, marking her first tour appearance since March 2024.

“There’s something truly special about DC, the energy, the fans, the history,” Venus Williams expressed with enthusiasm upon the announcement of her participation. “This city has always shown me so much love, and I can’t wait to compete there again.”

Venus, a celebrated seven-time Grand Slam champion, experienced a year unlike any other in 2021 when she did not participate in any of the four majors for the first time since turning pro in 1997.
