Amazon MGM Studios has premiered the official trailer for its new character-driven spy thriller series “Butterfly” which premieres on the service on August 13th.
Former “Lost” and “Hawaii Five-O” star Daniel Dae Kim plays David Jung, an enigmatic former US intelligence operative living in South Korea whose life implodes when an impossible decision from his past comes back to haunt him.
He’s pursued by Rebecca, a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him by sinister agency Caddis.
Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo, Louis Landau, Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, Nayoon Kim, Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa co-star.
The show is based on Arash Amel’s 2015 graphic novel of the same name. Ken Woodruff (“Gotham”) serves as showrunner and co-creator for the adaptation alongside acclaimed novelist Steph Cha.
Both executive produce alongside Kim, Amel, John Cheng, Stephen Christy and Ross Richie. Kitao Sakurai directed the first two episodes of the series.
