Partly shot in London, the Wipe Films production celebrates the work of Irish people in the culinary and drinks world.

It is now on release in UK cinemas and on digital platforms from Friday (18).

A Sip of Irish features publican Oisin Rogers, of the Devonshire Soho (voted the best pub in London by Time Out readers), and chef Anna Haugh of Myrtle restaurant in Chelsea.

Others include Jameson whiskey blender Deirdre O’Carroll, wine writer Oz Clarke, Michael Flatley (founder of Flatley Whiskey), Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill (who grew up in Tyrone) and, even, Prince Albert of Monaco (a whiskey lover).

A Sip of Irish tells a story that will surprise Londoners who think of Ireland as just the home of Guinness and Irish stew.

Director Frank Mannion’s previous films include Quintessentially British, with Ian McKellen and Judi Dench, and Sparkling: The Story of Champagne with Stephen Fry.
