Coronation Street fans are convinced they have “worked out” Sally and Tim’s future on the soap. The couple are currently at the forefront of a shocking storyline on the cobbles following the dramatic arrival of nightmare neighbours Mick and Lou Michaelis earlier this year. The new couple appeared as part of a short-term storyline which is currently playing out on-screen.
Tim Metcalfe found himself caring for Mick and Lou’s daughters Joanie and Shanice earlier this year, while their parents got caught up in a number of violent altercations on the street. With both Mick and Lou behind bars, Joanie and Shanice have been staying at Sally and Tim’s.
Meanwhile, Tim has been trying to convince his wife that they should look into fostering. At the start of the year, Sally and Tim had been caring for Mason Radcliffe, who died in a tragic stabbing.
It now seems that everything is falling into place, and Joanie and Shanice are slotting into Sally and Tim’s lives more and more each day. Monday’s broadcast of the ITV soap saw Joanie getting ready for a taster day at Weatherfield High.
Sally told her to try on some of her daughter Sophie’s old school shoes, and they were the perfect fit. Eagle-eyed fans have been keeping their eyes on the clues as Sally and Tim may be looking to foster the two girls right under their noses.
Drama continued in Weatherfield as Sally and Joanie found themselves on the roof of Underworld while Mick roamed the streets in search of his children.

Mick attacked Sarah, locking her and Tim in the office before taking to the scaffolding and stabbing his lifelong enemy Kit Green. He finally made it to Sally and Joanie, but to Mick’s surprise Joanie urged him not to hurt Sally.
Sally stuck up for herself and told Mick that his children were better off without him. She asserted her power and wouldn’t back down in order to keep Joanie protected.
After witnessing the heartfelt scenes on Monday, Coronation Street fans are now convinced that Sally and Tim’s future is confirmed, with Mick and Lou’s exit on the horizon.
Taking to social media, one fan said: “I am so here for Sally and Tim being parents to the two girls.” Another wrote: “What a lovely story arc this will be for Sally & Tim.. Shanice & Joanie are in safe caring hands.”
A third said: “Sally and Tim will look after them” while a fourth added: “Thank goodness for Sally. Gem of a character who can do everything brilliantly from the funny to the being on the roof she fell through with the daughter of an escaped convict in the same measure. Her and Tim would give the girls the safety and stability that they deserve.”
Fans were quick to praise the actress for her portrayal of such distressing scenes at the start of the week. One fan said: “Sally has been fab in this tonight!” as another agreed: “Sally Dynevor was brilliant in tonight’s #Corrie 10/10 performance!”
A third wrote: “THE HERO OF THE HOUR! GIVE IT UP FOR COUNCILLOR SALLY METCALFE” while a fourth said: “Sally Metcalfe to the rescue!”
