Leeds are making a real effort to build a team that can thrive in the Premier League.
The Whites have signed Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Sebastiaan Bornauw already this summer.
They’ve splashed some serious cash on those players, and are showing great ambition as far as the level of players they are targeting.
Their fans might soon have another new arrival to celebrate, according to a recent update from a Sky Sports journalist.

Leeds have been pursuing Sean Longstaff for most of the summer.
Daniel Farke is a big admirer of the English midfielder, who struggled to nail down a first-team place at Newcastle last season.
Now, it would appear that they’re finally ready to seal this transfer.
Posting on X, Sky Sports journalist Zinny Boswell says that Longstaff has left Newcastle’s pre-season training camp in Austria to undergo a medical at Leeds.
Assuming that he passes the medical, Longstaff will then complete the transfer in a deal supposedly worth over £12million.
That should prove to be a real coup for a 27-year-old who has proven himself as a capable midfielder in the Premier League.
Sean Longstaff has left Newcastle’s pre-season camp in Austria ahead of his proposed move to Leeds United.
Fee in excess of £12m agreed for the midfielder, who is in the final year of his deal. 27yo expected to undergo a medical and finalise the transfer over the coming days. https://t.co/ylrEmITCPH— Zinny Boswell (@ZinnyBoswell) July 16, 2025

Farke is aiming to build a strong spine to his team
It’s likely that Longstaff will be a guaranteed starter for Leeds as long as he’s fit and playing well.
The same could be said of Bijol, who hasn’t played in the Premier League in Serie A and at international level.
Daniel Farke is desperate to sign a new goalkeeper, and has been pursuing the likes of Lucas Perri and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
If he can complete one of those deals and recruit a proven striker, he’ll have the spine of a strong team.
Longstaff has the energy and the guile to dominate midfield against most Premier League sides. With Leeds target Anton Stach by his side, he’ll find it even easier to do that.
It’s an exciting transfer window so far for Leeds fans. If Farke could add these extra missing pieces, they’ll have every reason to be optimistic going into the new season.
