One of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe movies has just received a new free streaming home in the UK.

2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy is still available to stream for Disney+ subscribers, but it’s now available to stream for free on ITVX.

ITV’s streaming service is free with ads on its base tier, while there is an ad-free tier called ITVX Premium at £5.99 or £59.99 a year. Disney+’s ad-supported tier is £4.99 a month, while the standard ad-free tier is £8.99 a month, with the highest tier with 4K and HDR coming in at £12.99 a month.

The two streaming services currently have a deal which sees them host content from the other in their ‘A Taste of’ sections.

This is a limited-time deal, and content is planned to be cycled in and out quite frequently, meaning ITVX might host more MCU films, while Guardians of the Galaxy could be removed soon.

For those of you not up to date on your Marvel movies, Guardians of the Galaxy follows Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord as he meets a ragtag group of misfits and gets involved in a battle for control of an Infinity Stone (a McGuffin that becomes very important in later films).

Directed by Superman‘s James Gunn, the film is commonly ranked highly amongst the franchise’s many films.

In Digital Spy‘s own ordering, we placed the film just outside the top five, and stated that it was “pacy, funny, fresh and different” with a great ’80s soundtrack.

It’s also cracked the top 10 MCU films in terms of Rotten Tomatoes score (which tracks how many reviews are positive) and Metacritic score (the average review score), which actually encompasses ALL films based on Marvel comics, not just the MCU ones.

Meanwhile, ITVX has also added things like Andor season 1, while ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office is available to watch on Disney+.

Guardians of the Galaxy can be streamed on Disney+ and, for a limited time, ITVX.
