Warm weather is set to hit parts of the country later this monthWarm weather is on the way
Summer weather is set to hit parts of the UK later this month with temperatures rising to 24C, according to some forecasters.
It comes following a windy and rainy day today (Wednesday, April 16) across most parts of the West Midlands.
But an Iberian jet stream could change that with mercury soaring across the country.
The jet stream is a large-scale and high-altitude wind current that brings warm and dry air from the Iberian Peninsula towards the UK.

It can significantly increase temperatures and bring prolonged periods of warm weather, The Express reports.
According to the latest charts, temperatures could reach as high as 24C in parts of southern England.
The jet stream is expected to arrive on Thursday, April 24, before temperatures increase over the weekend.
The charts show the mercury hitting 23C in London at 6pm on Saturday, April 26, before climbing to 24C a day later.
Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to reach a slightly cooler 21C in the Midlands.
According to the Met Office long-range forecast, which runs from Sunday, April 20, until Tuesday, April 29, there will be “dry and sunny” weather over the period.
Temperatures are also expected to be “around or slightly above average” across the UK.
The Met Office long range forecast for the West Midlands from April 21 to April 30 states: “Many areas look to be rather showery at the start of this period, with the heaviest and most frequent showers more likely in the south.
“With time, this showery theme should become more confined to southern areas as pressure builds from the north, and by the final weekend of April high pressure may dominate most of the UK.
“This means a gradual increase in the extent of dry and for some, sunny conditions, though other areas may be rather cloudy at times.
“Where skies are clear overnight, some late season frost remains possible.
“It is possible that by the end of April, warmer conditions may develop, either through increased amounts of sunshine day on day or through a southerly airflow becoming established.”
