Anthony Joshua is the only man to have faced both Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.

Joshua stepped into the ring with Usyk first time round back in 2021. He was a unified champion who put everything on the line and failed to solve the challenges that Ukraine’s former undisputed cruiserweight champion presented.

They rematched a year later. Again the fight went 12, and again Usyk had his hand raised to retain his three belts, eventually adding the fourth when he beat Tyson Fury back in May 2024.

In between times facing ‘AJ’ and ‘The Gypsy King’, he also stopped Daniel Dubois, who he fights again this weekend for the chance to become undisputed heavyweight for the second time around after the young Brit was elevated to IBF Champion.

Joshua challenged Dubois for that title in September last year and was stopped inside five rounds.

Speaking to iFL TV, he was asked how he saw this weekend’s rematch going but entirely shut down the question, despite being well placed for a prediction and accustomed to being asked for them.

“I think it’s going to be good. I think, I’ve got a few thoughts on it but I don’t want to talk on it too much. It’s not my fight, it’s their fight, I don’t want to promote their fight. I don’t want to talk about it. Turn the camera off and ask me about it. You’re asking me in front of a bright light to put it out in front of the media and promote your channel and the fight and I’m not doing it. It’ll be a good fight, good luck to both of them.”

Joshua has had elbow surgery this year but is set to make a ring return, perhaps now in January of 2026. A goal to face Tyson Fury remains, though recent updates revealed that this may not be on the cards until 2027.
