Police are investigating after the discovery of ‘suspected bones’ buried in a back garden.

The Manchester Evening News understands a landscape gardener made the discovery and alerted police.

A police scene was in place in Oldham today, Friday, police said. One witness claimed police tents had been put up in the garden.

It’s not known whether what has been found are definitely bones. It is unclear whether the suspected bones are animal or human, Greater Manchester Police said.

A process of assessment is due to take place, followed by forensic analysis if they’re determined to be bones.
