Welcome to the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championships!

Yesterday, England and Sweden delivered the full drama of a messy penalty shootout. The Lionesses came back from two goals down with two goals scored just two minutes apart late in the second half. The shootout was dominated by miss after miss after miss, with both goalkeepers contributing sensational saves along the way. In the end, the defending EURO title holders go through to face Italy in the semis.

Now it’s Spain vs. Switzerland. The winner of this game will face the winner of Germany vs. France.

Spain have been on a tear in this tournament, scoring 14 goals in three group stage matches. The defending world champions are presumptive favorites and have done nothing to shatter that illusion — but the hosts will relish the chance to pull off an upset.
