A few speculations down the road, but it’s finally become clear which company would join forces with Decathlon from 2026 onwards. The sports brand will be joined by CMA GCM, allowing the team to considerably improve their budget to a level where the French formation compete with the world’s best.

As insurance company AG2R La Mondiale withdraws from the sport after three decades of dedicated support, the strongest French team at the moment was on a look out for a new title co-sponsor. Early rumours pointed towards a rather surprising name – cosmetics company L’Oréal, news that were later debunked. But it’s true Decathlon will continue to grow in years to come.

“The change is more than just a structural one: it reflects our strategy to deepen our involvement at the highest level. We want to shape the future of the sport, not just sponsor the present,” said Céline Del Genes, Decathlon’s Global Chief Customer Officer.

Dominique Serieys, team manager of Decathlon AG2R, also emphasized the importance of the future. “We want to prepare for a great future with Paul Seixas in 2028 or 2030. We want more top talent and a bigger budget.”

“CMA CGM will become co-sponsor of the Decathlon CMA CGM cycling team from January 1, 2026,” the announcement indicates. “Following the announcement of Decathlon’s acquisition of the professional cycling team at the end of the 2025 season, an ambitious new chapter begins.”

“The CMA CGM Group, a global player in maritime, land, air, and logistics solutions, joins DECATHLON as a principal partner until the end of 2030,” the statement continues. “A French alliance committed to performance. A shared energy for a global ambition.”

According to Cyclingnews, the budget should grow from 30 to 40 million (euros) per year. This has allowed Decathlon to actively on hunt on the market with big hitters such as Olav Kooij, Tiesj Benoot or Matthew Riccitello expected to join the French WT team.
