Spud Bros, the viral sensation that serves up those tasty hot potatoes that everyone is going crazy for on the socials, is set to open a new location in Sheffield. A planning application has been submitted to the council to take over the former Rebel clothing shop on Fargate, according to The Star.
With roots dating back to 1955, when Ernie Rhodes launched a hot potato cart in Preston’s Flag Market, the brand was reimagined as Spud Bros back in 2020 by Harley and Jacob Nelson, who now front the business.

From humble beginnings as a street food venture, the duo now boast 4.4 million TikTok followers as well as 835k on Instagram and 886K on Facebook. Mainly down to their fun behind-the-counter videos and bold topping combos have helped them build a devoted fanbase.
But what toppings might you be chowing down on at the new Sheffield location?
Popular menu items include the Spudbros Classic (cheese and beans), The Spudfather (chilli con carne and cheese), Tuna Coleslaw, and Bolognese Spud, with their most talked-about combo featuring garlic butter, cheese, beans, crispy onions, and their signature “tram sauce.” All potatoes are locally sourced.
Already established in Preston and London, Spud Bros is now expanding through new shops and franchise opportunities. Their Sheffield store will join other new arrivals on Fargate, including Popeyes UK, as part of the street’s growing foodie revival.
