Paret-Peintre wins Tour stage 16 on Mont Ventoux

Jonas Vingegaard attacks again and again on the Giant of Provence but Tadej Pogačar picks up a few seconds in the end.

Dane Cash

Valentin Paret-Peintre (Soudal-Quick-Step) outkicked Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) and Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious) atop Mont Ventoux to win stage 16 of the Tour de France from the breakaway.

A little ways behind the stage winner, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) rolled over the line two seconds ahead of Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) after the Dane tried again and again without success to drop the Slovenian on the brutal Provenčal climb.
