Hull City are in real danger of relegation to League One this season.
Issues off the pitch mean that the Tigers cannot spend money on transfer fees, with deals for players collapsing in recent weeks – including a permanent move for Louie Barry falling through.
The winger has joined Sheffield United, much to the delight of Blades supporters, but Hull are still lining up moves for other stars in the hope that their restriction is rescinded soon.
Sergej Jakirovic has urged calm amid these problems, and now the club are reportedly interested in a midfielder who is very well-known in Yorkshire.
Hull City show interest in John Lundstram
It’s been a quiet summer for Hull so far with signings very limited, but work is still going on behind the scenes to find new stars.

According to Alan Nixon, the Tigers are keen on bringing John Lundstram to the MKM Stadium, with the ex-Sheffield United man currently playing out in Turkey.
He said: “Hull City want to bring midfielder John Lundstram home from Turkish side Trabzonspor. The Tigers are trying to handle transfer embargo problems but are lining up players if they are allowed to bring them in.
“Lundstram went to Turkey from Rangers but previously had a long spell at Sheffield United. He is on a huge salary which will cause him additional personal issues. However, Hull are trying to find ways round the deal as they bid to put a squad together to bid for promotion.”
John Lundstram has plenty of experience
Billy Sharp has already told Hull why they should sign Lundstram, and after a relatively strong season in Turkey, he still appears to be at the top of his game.
His time with Rangers was particularly successful, and he played a key role in the Scottish giants reaching the Europa League final in 2022.

At 31, he still has a few good years ahead of him and a return to England may just suit him at this time, although Hull have to get on top of their off-field problems in order to sign him.
The Tigers’ goal is to avoid relegation this season, and they will need as much quality as possible in the middle of the park to do so, something that Lundstram can provide in droves.
