Kate Abdo’s boxing ventures will go no further than training, despite a rumoured Misfits debut.
Now known as Kate Scott, the presenter has been trained by husband Malik Scott, sparking talks that she was gearing up to enter the professional boxing scene.

Scott, who previously trained former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, had been using free-time over the years to train his wife, even going as far as to announce last year that she was ‘not far’ from her first professional outing in the ring.
Having been offered a spot by KSI’s promotion Misfits Boxing, Scott seemed to be in line to fulfil her boxing dream.
But now, just over a year later when speaking to Thunderpick, he has revealed his wife’s debut is unlikely to be one that we will ever see.
He explained: “I would say it’s dead forever. I’ve been in love with Kate the last few years, and the love has got deeper and deeper and deeper, and at one time Kate boxing was something I was entertaining.
“But I’m so crazy about this woman that I would never want to see her box right now. I was deeply in love with her before, and was sketchy and nervous about it, and now I just can’t even imagine it.”
In 2023 she impressed fans with her technique, as footage emerged of her on pads with Scott.
The video only intensified excitement around a potential emergence onto the boxing scene for Scott, this time as a contender.
Her husband continued: “I’m cool with just training my wife on pads.
“We were looking at fights together, but I never want to see her box. I wouldn’t say I persuaded her but my energy speaks for itself.
“It’s not something that I bring up. It’s not something that I entertain.”

Although there was a time that it didn’t seem so impossible for Scott to enter the ring.
Ultimately her work commitments, especially those around the Champions League, were believed to add to difficulty setting a date.
Since beginning her career as a broadcast presenter at Sky Sports, Scott has worked with boxing promotion Premier Boxing Champions and hosted boxing shows with DAZN.
All before taking on her current role of chief presenter for CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League where she hosts alongside Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and former defenders Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.
She has undeniably built her reputation up over the years as a very talented sports presenter, as well as a budding women’s boxer in the gym with Scott.
While her involvement in professional boxing will not go any further than presenting, she will no doubt continue to train purely for fitness purposes.
