Sheffield Wednesday will struggle to bring players to the club this summer, but talks have been held for one potential arrival.
Amid their financial problems, Sheffield Wednesday were placed under a three-window transfer embargo earlier this summer.
It means they are prevented from signing players for any sort of fee.
However, the Owls are able to complete transfers for players who are not registered with another club and don’t cost any money.
On this front, the Yorkshire club have been in talks for a potential signing in the last week.

It has been reported previously that Sheffield Wednesday had taken Mohamed Konate on trial.
He featured on July 18 along with a couple more trialists in a friendly against Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Now, an update on Wednesday making a move for Konate has been shared this week.
The Star reports that talks over signing the player permanently have taken place.
But their report also highlighted one potential issue with completing a permanent deal for Konate.
Should he sign, the trialist would take up an Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) spot, and the number of these is limited.
It remains to be seen if Wednesday will push ahead despite this but it’s something the Owls will have to consider.

As well as Konate, the Owls also decided they would take some more youngsters on trial recently.
Sheffield Wednesday played an unknown goalkeeper during their aforementioned friendly match last week.
Alexander Asaba, who has ties to Sheffield United thanks to his father, Carl, also featured during the game.
With the work they can do in the market this summer limited, signing players for free after trials may be the Owls’ best recruitment strategy this summer.
