Summer Mile winner Never So Brave is expected to tackle Group 1 company for the first time when he heads to the Knavesmire for the upgraded Sky Bet City of York Stakes next month.
The four-year-old wore down Point Lynas to strike at Ascot two weeks ago and will drop back to seven furlongs at York on August 23 for a contest promoted to Group 1 level this year.
Never So Brave underlined his effectiveness over the trip when landing the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, and he has yet to finish outside the top two in three starts since joining Andrew Balding at the start of the year.
