EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (24 July), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders’ Alfie Moon has finally confessed the truth about Zoe Slater, as Kat discovers that he has been lying again about his secret trip.
Kat officially took over as landlady of The Vic in today’s episode, moving her family’s belongings from the flat to the pub – and giving the Queen Victoria bust a touch of leopard print.
She told Stacey she couldn’t wait to surprise Alfie with this unexpected move back to the place they first met all those years ago. But Stacey felt guilty that they were still hiding the real reason for Alfie’s current absence from her.
The pub quickly filled up with punters on the official reopening, and excited Kat’s only wish was that her husband was here to share this special night.

At the mention of Alfie’s name, Jean blurted out that he was helping Hayley and Cherry – as this is the fake story that Stacey told her mum to cover the truth about Zoe.
Stacey was forced to relay this made-up tale to Kat, who was devastated that Alfie had lied about his cancer scare.
She remarked that she would do anything to help Alfie find his child, completely unaware that he was currently doing exactly that for her.

The first night in the pub got even worse when the police arrived after receiving noise complaints – and they arrested Mo for exposing herself in the middle of the Square!
Meanwhile, Stacey left a message for Alfie, telling him that Kat knows they lied to her and that he needs to come back to Walford.
As Kat resolved to put this disastrous day behind her, she pleaded with Stacey to be honest from now on, but she missed a call from Alfie.

Still in Spain, distraught Alfie left a drunken message for Kat and revealed that it was Zoe who was staying with Stacey last month and that he was trying to get her out of trouble.
“I really did my best to bring her back to Walford,” he said. “I know you’re going to hate me right now, but I don’t want to lose you, Kat.”
Is Kat about to discover the truth about Zoe?
