Bayern Munich and Tottenham have served as the greener side of the pasture for each other in recent years. Bayern acquired Harry Kane and ended his quest for a professional trophy. Bayern also gave Eric Dier a reboot to his aging career that resulted in a three-year deal with Monaco.

On the flip side, Bayern sent Mathys Tel to Tottenham on loan during the 2025 winter transfer window. All parties agreed to a permanent deal this summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg (via @iMiaSanMia), the two clubs are putting their heads together to solve another player’s conundrum.

Tottenham are interested in João Palhinha and are monitoring his situation, though it’s not concrete at this stage. Palhinha’s camp has been informed. Bayern are open to talks in case of a suitable offer.

Palhinha joined Bayern last summer on a €51M deal but injuries and squad depth kept him on the bench for all but 995 minutes. Bayern are looking to recover at least half of the original transfer fee. The most likely scenario feels like a loan-to-buy deal that benefits all parties involved.
