Songstress Miley Cyrus is celebrating passing a milestone on the world’s most popular music streaming service.
Spotify recently dropped a concert film featuring Cyrus performing an intimate show for fans. The catch here is the songs featured were her hits that landed at over a billion listens.
Billion Dollar Baby
Spotify announced the Billions Club in an effort to categorize songs that were played so much that they outnumbered traditional song plays.
The concert Cyrus held took place in Maxim’s de Paris venue this past June. On the achievement, the singer noted how special the milestone is and how it couldn’t have been done without the fans.
“Being a part of the Billions Club is only a part of me – it’s an honor, but in no means is it holistic. Each of you are a piece of a billion, and without each of you, the billion doesn’t even exist. That’s how important and crucial you are to the success in my life,” Cyrus told Billboard.
“The confidence and goals that I have achieved [is] because of you and your support. And I’ve never really been too interested in numbers because math is done from the mind, but true authentic beauty is from the heart.”
Waiting For Bobby Axlerod
Cyrus took time to meditate on her streaming milestone during an episode of Spotify’s “Billions Club: The Series.” She and her sister Brandi recollected on the inspirations behind the hits as well as how they affected the singer’s career.
1,005 songs have reached one billion streams.
The Weeknd holds the record for most streamed song on Spotify with “Blinding Lights.” He also has the most songs on the list with over 25. Other artists on the list include Dua Lipa and Bruno Mars.
The Weeknd was the first artist to hold an exclusive concert for his fans to celebrate the billions of streams.
