Leeds United have tabled a bid worth in excess of €30million for Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao.
Talks between Leeds, Feyenoord and Paixao’s representatives have been ongoing since last week.
Marseille have shown the greatest interest in signing the 25-year-old to this point but the Ligue 1 outfit, who are bound for next season’s Champions League, have so far failed to bring their negotiations with the Dutch giants over the line.
Leeds have now made their move for Paixao, with interest driven by sporting director Adam Underwood.
A move to Elland Road would offer the Brazilian the chance to play Premier League football and take a similar path to compatriot Raphinha, who is now at Barcelona.
Paixao scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists in 34 appearances for the Rotterdam outfit in last season’s Eredivisie, as Feyenoord finished third.
Meanwhile, the final stages of fellow Brazilian Lucas Perri’s transfer to Leeds are progressing in Germany. The goalkeeper arrived at the team’s training camp from Lyon on Thursday night, with a medical expected to take place on Friday.
The final fee for that move is expected to be worth €16million (£13.9m, $18.8m) plus €2million (£1.7m, $2.4m) in add-ons.
