Out of all the Sheffield Wednesday youngsters, one Owls ace must be kept under all circumstances, otherwise serious questions will continue to arise for Dejphon Chansiri.
Sheffield Wednesday’s summer has been focused on treading water amid financial turmoil.
After the 2024/25 Championship campaign drew to a close, uncertainty started to spark at Sheffield Wednesday, particularly regarding the future of Danny Rohl and several first-team players.
It is not confirmed whether Rohl will stay in his position as Owls boss after EFL Analysis exclusively revealed that the players and the hierarchy are still set on parting ways with the German, but due to the cost of releasing him from his contract, it will not be easy.
A number of Sheffield Wednesday players have already left this summer as Dejphon Chansiri looks to secure short-term funding to run the club, and this could easily be followed up by one sale that would not go down well for the Owls owner.

Whilst selling first-teamers is a more likely route for Chansiri to continue down, he agreed to get rid of Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri, whilst he could also turn to fellow Owls youngster Pierce Charles, who could fetch a sizeable fee this summer.
EFL Analysis exclusively revealed in April that a number of Premier League clubs are paying close attention to Charles and could look to land him this summer, with Aston Villa and Everton watching him, whilst Tottenham, Brentford, and Fulham have also shown interest.
While the situation at Sheffield Wednesday has left supporters very pessimistic ahead of the new season, some fans are keen to see the younger players line out for the Owls, including Charles, who shone when called upon by Danny Rohl last season.
Even Alex Miller, in a recent episode of All Wednesday, has spoken about the Northern Irish international and the quality he possesses.
“You look at Pierce Charles, (who) is obviously a remarkable talent.
“He’s got the world at his feet and and the more people I speak to about Pierce, the more excited I get.
“You know it, it just feels like he’s a potential superstar in the making.”
With the quality and potential that Charles possesses, it would be safe to assume that Sheffield Wednesday supporters would be livid if he was let go by Chansiri this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday fans will be hoping that Dejphon Chansiri does not repeat the feat of Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba with Pierce Charles. The Owls’ wingers both left for a fee substantially below their market value, and that simply cannot take place with the young Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper.
Charles has already become a starter for Northern Ireland after bursting onto the scene for Danny Rohl’s Sheffield Wednesday, which has significantly heightened his market value.
If Sheffield Wednesday can solve their financial woes and keep hold of Charles, there is no doubt that, after a successful Championship season, the shot-stopper could fetch an eight-figure fee in the future.
Sheffield Wednesday supporters will now need to sit tight on whether Chansiri will cave to any Premier League clubs showing interest in Charles.
