A Bruno Fernandes brace earned Manchester United a narrow 2-1 victory over Premier League rivals West Ham United in a pre-season friendly on Sunday morning.
The Red Devils went ahead early on in New Jersey when Fernandes converted a penalty, before the Portuguese doubled his and United’s tally after the break.
England international Jarrod Bowen then pulled one back for the Hammers, but it was Man United who ran out victors.
Ruben Amorim will be keen to see his side build on that victory as they continue their pre-season tour of the United States, with games against Bournemouth and Everton still to come.
In the meantime, however, it has emerged that United are considering a shock move for an ex-Premier League striker.
As per CaughtOffside, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are considering moves to sign striker Aleksandar Mitrovic from Saudi side Al Hilal.

The report claims that the two sides are both keeping tabs on the Serbian, who left Fulham to move to the Saudi Pro League in 2023.
Since then he has netted 68 times in 79 games for Al Hilal, but the report claims that he has attracted interest from United and Spurs, as well as former club Newcastle United.
It is claimed that Al Hilal will demand a fee of around £26 million for the Serbia international, who has scored 38 times in 129 Premier League games across spells with both Fulham and Newcastle.
The striker is contracted to Al Hilal until the end of next season, but it appears quite likely that he could in fact return to the Premier League this summer.
United are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund having struggled in front of goal last term.
The Red Devils have already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to Amorim’s squad.
