B:Music, the Birmingham music charity responsible for Town Hall and Symphony Hall, programme for August to October 2025 including comedy, live music, films, family entertainment, and spoken word on its two world-famous stages.

The new season showcases an array of performances at Town Hall and Symphony Hall. From the multi award-winning comedian Bill Bailey to the young musicians of the National Youth Orchestra, August sees a varied and exciting programme. There is plenty more live music to choose from in September, with something for everyone from Engelbert Humperdinck to Brit Award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist James Morrison. And October sees Lulu taking to the Town Hall stage, as well as the original Star Wars Trilogy: Live in Concert at Symphony Hall.

Comedy

B:Music is providing the laughs this Autumn with a plethora of comedy A-listers to choose from. Stand-up stars including;

Bill Bailey: Thoughtifier (27th August), ISMO: Woo Hoo! (16th September), Geoff Northcott: Basic Bloke 2 (4th October), Kane Brown: Don’t Listen to Me (5th October), Jason Byrne: Head in the Clouds (10th October), Henning Wehn: Acid Wehn (11th October), Georgie Carroll: Infectious (23rd October), and Sara Pascoe: I Am a Strange Gloop (30th October) will be taking to the Town Hall and Symphony Hall stages for the ultimate feel-good night out.

Live Music

B:Music Presents A Night of Ska at Town Hall, featuring Bad Manners, The Beat featuring Rankin Jnr, Lobster, and Mazzy Snape (20th September). For something completely different, Lulu is inviting her fans to join her for an intimate conversation with songs and stories. at Town Hall (6th October). Now at 76, with the release of her highly anticipated memoir, she’s finally telling her whole, unfiltered story for the very first time.

Boomtown Rats

The Boomtown Rats celebrate five decades of their music at Symphony Hall (11th October) on what promises to be not just any ordinary tour – it’s a celebration of their musical legacy. Relive the magic of the Rats, with an exclusive Boomtown Rats documentary screening opening the evening, highlighting never-before seen footage, and taking the audience on an evocative journey through the band’s extraordinary history.

Experience the boundary-breaking pioneers fusing orchestra with rock, the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra at Symphony Hall (12th October). Formed in 2018, the collective of 12 classically trained artists was brought together by their love of rock music and immense talent. They have been wowing audiences ever since with their reimagined classic hits from AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns N Roses, Evanescence, Motörhead, Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, and more.

London Symphonic Rock Orchestra

Suzanne Vega gives a rare concert at Symphony Hall this autumn (31st October). Widely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s. Accompanying herself on an acoustic guitar, Vega sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs and has since performed sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known venues.

And experience the epic music of Star Wars like never before at Symphony Hall this October. Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi will be played on the big screen accompanied by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), bringing John Williams’ legendary score to life (24th, 25th, 26th October).

Audiences can famously hear a pin dropped anywhere on the Symphony Hall stage in every seat single seat in the auditorium, thanks to the meticulously designed acoustics. Family Fun

Bring the whole family to Town Hall this autumn to experience Kidz Bop Live (28th October). Kidz Bop is the number one music brand for kids, featuring today’s biggest hits ‘sung by kids, for kids’. Each year, Kidz Bop Live, the ultimate pop concert for kids (and grown-ups), hits all major cities across the US, UK, and Canada.

Learning

B:Music is bringing some world-class speakers with plenty of stories to its stages. Join Professor Alice Roberts as she takes the audience on an investigative journey to establish who spread Christianity, how and why; the story of the fall of an Empire – and the rise of another (4th September).

Experience the electrifying reunion of motorsport’s most captivating teammate rivalry as stars Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard take the Symphony Hall stage for an uncensored, no-holds-barred conversation about their careers and the 2025 season so far (26th September). Or come and join comedian, broadcaster, campaigner (and tiny Danish beacon of hope) Sandi Toksvig for an evening celebrating her love and passion for writers and books in her new show Friends of Dorothy (6th October).

There’s even a very special evening at Symphony Hall with Eric Idle (10th September). Star of stage, screen, and crossword puzzle, Idle has often been compared to Noel Coward. But never favourably. He has been in show business since 1961, and his new show, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, Live! is a nostalgic one man musical and contains everything and anything, including comedy, music, philosophy and one fart joke.

Other Highlights

Other highlights of the August to October 2025 season include the winner of Channel 4’s The Piano Brad Kella (18th September), An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and More in front of a live audience at Town Hall (26th September), and a performance from legendary 70s folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne who return to Town Hall with a classic five-piece lineup of long-time members, fronted by original founder-member Rod Clements on vocals, mandolin, fiddle, and slide guitar (27th September).
