Australian QSR brand Zambrero has launched a franchise recruitment programme in the UK, as the Mexican-inspired chain sets its sights on opening 100 restaurants by 2030.
Zambrero entered the UK market in 2021 with the launch of its first site in London’s Kentish Town.
It has since grown to 13 restaurants around London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and Essex, all serving its signature customisable burritos and bowls.
As part of its renewed expansion drive, Zambrero has signed up to its first three franchise partners, who will be responsible for opening sites within the next 12 months, including its first branch in Scotland.
The growth plans are expected to create 1,500 jobs, including full and part-time roles.
Zambrero UK revealed the business is looking for more franchise partners, multi-site owners and area developers to accelerate expansion across all formats, ranging from traditional restaurants to drive-thrus.
Emily Teh, chief executive of Zambrero UK, said: “We’ve had a lot of interest in the brand during the last couple of years – and now is the right time for us to expand through our franchise partners and work towards opening 100 restaurants by 2030. We also have opportunities for area developers to join us and help us achieve our growth plans.
“When you join Zambrero as a franchise partner, you become part of our ‘Zam Fam’ and make a commitment to partnering with us to bring an incredible experience to our customers every day. We’re looking for passionate franchise partners who can open multiple restaurants.”
Zambrero was founded in Australia in 2005 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr Sam Prince.
It now operates more than 300 restaurants in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Ireland and the UK, making it the largest Mexican restaurant franchise in both Australia and Ireland.
In February 2023, Zambrero secured a $250m (£141m) investment from Metric Capital Partners.
