Salford City striker Will Wright is undergoing a medical at Liverpool with a deal agreed for the 17-year-old star, according to Sky Sports journalist Luca Bendoni.

Adding to their forward line appears to be a priority for the Reds this summer, with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak also a player of interest. Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Liverpool remain keen on the Newcastle star, and he wants to leave St James’ Park before the market closes in early September.

The Reds have already brought in Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, but they are still eyeing a move for Isak, showing that they really mean business in the summer transfer window. Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez have also arrived through the door, with Arne Slot’s side building a squad more than capable of lifting the Premier League title once again.

Reporting on X, Sky Sports journalist Bendoni has confirmed that Salford City striker Wright is undergoing a medical at Liverpool, with a deal now agreed. It’s claimed that Liverpool have beaten Arsenal in the race to secure his signature, with the 17-year-old set to sign his contract in the coming hours.

Wright has enjoyed an impressive spell with Salford’s youth sides, but he’s yet to establish himself as a regular at senior level. As a result, it might be a while before we see Wright involved in Liverpool’s first team, and he’s likely to be starting out in the academy, considering his age.

To have two of the biggest Premier League clubs chasing his signature at such a young age shows the ability that Wright has, and it appears Liverpool have been able to offer a better package, whether that be financially or a pathway to the first team.
