Courtney Angus, 21, of Dewsbury, was discovered at a property in Norfolk Street in Batley on Saturday.

A 37-year-old man from Batley remains in custody today after he was arrested on suspicion of her murder.  

The Fox & Hounds pub in Batley said Ms Angus had worked there and staff were “heartbroken to hear the devastating news”.

A social media post said: “Though she was only with us at The Fox for a short while, she left a lasting impression – sweet, kind, and always with a warm smile.

“Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.

“It’s a truly sad time for Batley and Dewsbury, and our thoughts are with all affected.”
