Princess Anne takes on final duty as royal family heads for summer break
Buckingham Palace confirmed the final royal engagement for the royal family before they all head for their summer break.
King Charles is already in Scotland at the beloved Balmoral Castle of the royal family, meanwhile, Prince William is already on his break with the family.
Holding up her title for the hardest working royal member of the family, the royal diary stated that the monarch’s sister will be conducting the final royal engagement on Wednesday before engagements resume in mid-August.
“The Princess Royal, Patron, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, will attend a rehearsal at Redford Barracks, Colinton Road, Edinburgh,” it read under the date, July 30, 2025.
The annual event sees a series of military tattoos – a performance – performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands, and artistic performance teams on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in the capital of Scotland.
The update comes as tensions continue between Prince William and Princess Anne.
Anne is reportedly growing frustrated by her nephew, who will be the next king, and believes William should start pulling his weight in the royal household.
In a report by The Sunday Times, a source revealed that Anne would like to see William partake in more “bread-and-butter” royal duties.
“She’s still doing most of the investitures [at Windsor] even though William lives there. It annoys her,” the insider said.
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales and his wife, Kate Middleton, live minutes away from Windsor Castle at Adelaide Cottage with their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis.
