Leeds are still searching for a new striker.
Daniel Farke has told Patrick Bamford he is surplus to requirements at Elland Road, and is searching for a fresh face who can compete against Joel Piroe.
TBR Football understand Rodrigo Muniz is an option for Leeds this summer.
The Fulham No.9 is believed to be open to making a move to Leeds.
However, sources inform TBR Football that Newcastle have now been offered Muniz, adding a new dimension to the saga after the Magpies failed to land Hugo Ekitike.
Newcastle also look set to lose Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
As competition arrives in the battle to sign Rodrigo Muniz, Leeds have made an approach for an alternative in Artem Dovbyk.
Leeds make contact with Roma over Artem Dovbyk
Calciomercato now state that Leeds have made an enquiry to Roma over the Ukraine international – as have West Ham.
The Italian news outlet believe Roma are happy to sell Dovbyk this summer after signing Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton, but want a sum of €40m (£35m) to sell the forward – having spent £26m to sign him from Girona last August.
The man born in Cherkasy scored 17 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last season.
What Thomas Frank has previously said about Artem Dovbyk
Should Leeds manage to sign the 28-year-old this summer, Thomas Frank would presumably approve.
Frank previously hailed Dovbyk while working as a pundit during UEFA Euro 2024, saying: “There are a lot of clubs looking at him, no doubt about that.
“I could see him in the Premier League in the future. I like his left foot, it is really good.”
Dovbyk was one of the hottest strikers on the planet around this time last summer, having just won the Golden Boot in La Liga with 24 goals in 36 games, so it would be an exciting move for Leeds should this deal materialise.
