Magi Kidby was asleep inside the property but CCTV captured the incident.
CCTV has captured the moment an intruder ‘stood on a wheelie bin and climbed up a wall’ outside a house in Edinburgh while people were asleep inside the property.
The incident which happened at around 4am on July 30, shows a woman prowling around a property in Niddrie, reports Edinburgh Live.
The resident, Magi Kidby, claims a woman had lifted the wheelie bin from a different area and placed it in her garden.
The footage shows the woman on top of the bin before frantically trying to climb up the side of the wall.
The woman spends some time looking at the bin before making the choice to get on top and access the building railings.

“In the process, she was kicking the back door to the property which woke my daughter up.”
Back in June, it hooded intruder was caught on camera lurking around another property in West Lothian after dark.
The footage was taken in Broxburn in the early hours of Sunday, June 22 and seems to show a figure prowling around properties on a residential West Lothian street.
CCTV footage seems to show a hooded individual walking away from the doorway of the home and exiting through a front gate. However, when a car drives down the road, the shadowy figure appears to duck away from the road and hide below a row of bins.
The resident told Edinburgh Live: “A hooded individual came through our neighbour’s garden, creeping under windows then to my door.
“It sounded like they tried the door handle then went to leave to run back into the garden, hiding from passing cars before leaving.
“My partner saw the individual standing in the street as he went down to check. Once they noticed my partner, they left.
“I felt uneasy even though I always lock my door, but this has now made me hyper aware of it.”
