Cogeco is officially launching its bring-your-own-phone mobile plans in Quebec and Ontario. Additionally, customers with a Cogeco internet subscription can expect up to $40 off their monthly plan for the first year.

Interestingly, Cogeco also has a pre-authorized debit discount of $10, meaning some customers may see up to $50 off their monthly plan for the first year. The company also offers a $10 bundle discount. Further, Cogeco is waiving the $60 connection fee.

Cogeco’s plans include unlimited nationwide minutes, text, picture, and video messaging, as well as call display and voicemail. The plans with data offer the rollover feature, which means any unused data from the month will roll over to the following month. However, you can only rollover your data for one month. Additionally, Cogeco will notify its subscribers when they’ve reached 75 per cent of their data and pause services once they’ve reached 100 per cent of their allotment.

Cogeco Mobile Plans:

  • 25GB/$59 per month — (or $10 per month for the first 12 months, if you’re a Cogeco internet customer)
  • 10GB/$49 per month — (or $0 per month for the first 12 months, if you’re a Cogeco internet customer)
  • Talk&Text/$39 per month — (or $0 per month for the first 12 months, if you’re a Cogeco internet customer)

After the 12-month promotion discount, data customers will see their plan increase by $29 monthly and data/text customers will see their plans increase by $19 monthly.

It seems that those wanting to switch to Cogeco and get these more affordable plans can also switch their internet to Cogeco at the same time. However, the promotion will come off their bill if the internet service is no longer in good standing.

Interestingly, Cogeco has some details on why it’s offering these “ridiculous savings:”

“Thank you for being among the first to experience our new mobile service. While we’ve tested it thoroughly, some hiccups may still occur. We appreciate your patience and are offering a special launch promotion as thanks for being an early supporter.”
