Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Friday, August 1, said education and employment have the potential to transform society.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 15th edition of Alva’s Pragati, the two-day mega placement drive, organised by Alva’s Education Foundation in Moodbidri.
The Minister underscored the importance of aligning education with meaningful employment. “Education not only equips individuals for employment but also empowers them personally and professionally to pursue their aspirations. Those who are gainfully employed and establish their identity contribute positively to society. When talent remains untapped, it becomes a burden on society. We must intensify our efforts to address the issue,” he said.

Praising Alva’s Education Foundation for its consistent efforts in organising such initiatives, the Minister said the institution’s commitment to societal progress beyond commercial interests is both commendable and inspiring. “Alva’s Pragati is not just a placement platform; it is a vision for a structured, inclusive, and opportunity-driven workforce,” he added.
Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor P.L. Dharma said job roles are constantly evolving to match changing times. “There is a significant difference between seeking candidates and offering a job.
