It has pitches by the river and has even got its own alpacas which campers can feedThe Crown Inn and Campsite, North Wales(Image: Pitchup.com)
Located on a bend in the road next to the bridge in the village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, the Crown Inn looks like any other traditional pub in the North Wales countryside.
Step inside this Grade-II listed, 300-year old building and you’ll find a welcoming interior with oak beams, granite floors and a pool table.
Yet the pub also has a secret: in the grounds nestled between the River Alwen and the surrounding woodland is a campsite with pitches from just £12.50 a night.
Available to book on pitchup.com, The Crown Inn campsite is simple and laidback – this is a place to stay if you want to get away from it all and reconnect with nature.

You access the campsite via a ford which crosses the river, adding to the sense of adventure.

Pitches include two-person tents on grass from £12.50, a woodland tent pitch from £15 for two, a “bed-in-a-shed microlodge” from £42.50 and bell tents for up to four people from £70.
Facilities are limited, but that’s part of the charm. There are no showers but there are unisex compost toilets. There are washing up facilities for guests too.
But guests do have the perk of being located right next to a pub, which means delicious food and refreshing drinks are only a hop, skip and jump away from the tent.
Campers can explore the trails through the woodland and even see the small waterfall which cascades down from the top of the woods into the river below.

The Crown Inn and Campsite also has another hidden gem: a private alpaca paddock. Guests can book to feed these friendly creatures or take them on a walk through the surrounding countryside.
