The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift concluded today in the village of Châtel, after nine exciting days of racing. The final stage was a mountainous 124-kilometer route beginning at Praz-sur-Arly with three categorized climbs, including the hors catégorie ascent of the legendary Col de Joux Plane—a 11.6 km, 8.5% beast—at the midway point.
Early in the race, it looked as if the yellow jersey wearer, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma-Lease a Bike), might have her work cut out for her when a group of GC rivals attacked and dropped stage 8’s winner on the first descent. But PFP battled back, rejoining the lead group. They continued together until 6 km to go, when Ferrand-Prévot attacked. She soon distanced the group and rode to a 20-second solo victory. Last year’s Tour winner, Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney (Canyon-SRAM-ZondaCrypto), finished third on the day with Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) taking second place.
With her Stage 9 win, Ferrand-Prévot locked up the yellow leaders jersey, winning the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. PFP finished 3 minutes, 42 seconds over second-place Vollering, with Niewiadoma-Phinney taking third place overall. Lorena Weibes (SD Worx-Protime) claimed the green points jersey, and Elise Chabbey (FDJ-Suez) took home the polka-dot climber’s jersey.
