Applications have now closed for ‘team-up’ participants for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026, the Luxembourgish Eurovision selection show.

Yesterday was the final day for artists without a song or songwriters without an artist to apply to be part of the ‘team-up’ process for the Luxembourgish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. The ‘team-up’ process was open for Luxembourgish artists who wanted to connect with national and/or international songwriters. Likewise, songwriters were able to register to get in touch with Luxembourgish artists. These applicants now have until September 21 to complete their songs and apply to compete through the main submission process.

Once the submission window has closed on September 21, all applications will be assessed and successful candidates will be invited to audition in front of an international expert jury during the month of October. This jury will select the finalists of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be Luxembourgish nationals, have lived in Luxembourg for three consecutive years or have strong links to the Luxembourgish cultural scene
  • Applicants must be at least 18 by January 24, 2026
  • Applicants must be available between November 2025 and May 2026

Songs must meet the following requirements:

  • Songs must not exceed three minutes in length
  • Songs must be original
  • Songs must not have been released or performed before September 1 2025
  • Songs can be in any language
  • Artists can submit up to three songs

Applications can be submitted here.

Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2025 with “La poupée monte le son”. She finished 22nd with 47 points. This is the worst result of the country since its comeback in 2024, when Luxembourg came 13th with Tali and “Fighter”.

Luxembourg was one of seven countries to take part in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Luxembourg participated in the contest 37 times before withdrawing from the contest after 1993. During these 37 years, they won the contest five times. The last of these victories came in 1983. Luxembourg came close to returning to the contest in 2004, but opted against it due to the financial cost of participating. They eventually returned in 2024, after an absence of 31 years.
