A Birmingham cabbie is in a critical but stable condition after a severe collision that occurred early Saturday morning.
The crash, which involved a Peugeot taxi and a Volkswagen Golf, took place on Icknield Street near the Hockley Tesco Superstore around 3am on August 2.
The taxi driver sustained “life-threatening injuries” and was rushed to the hospital where he has been fighting for his life.
In an update on August 4, West Midlands Police confirmed his condition.
A second man, who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Golf, suffered “life-changing injuries” in the crash. Another man from the same vehicle was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
West Midlands Police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information.
A force spokesperson stated: “Witnesses, or anyone with any information, should ring 101 quoting log number 507 of 2 August.”
