The family of a three year old girl who police believe was murdered in Leeds last week have released a picture of her.

Hope McGrath was found unresponsive at a home in Austhorpe Court, Colton.

Her mum, 47 year old Pippa McGrath, appeared before Leeds Crown Court earlier today charged with murder and has since been remanded into custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hope’s death.”

“A photograph of the three-year-old has been released by her family. I would ask that people respect their privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

A post-mortem is due to take place on hope tomorrow.

McGrath did not enter a plea during her court appearance earlier. A provisional trial date has been set for next February.
