A Ryanair flight heading to Bristol was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Cardiff Airport due to a reported “issue” with the aircraft.

Flight FR504, which left from Dublin Airport on Tuesday, August 5, was redirected to Cardiff following the detection of an issue.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said: “This flight from Dublin to Bristol (5 August) diverted to Cardiff due to a minor tech issue.

“The aircraft landed normally at Cardiff Airport and passengers disembarked.

“To minimise disruption to passengers, we quickly arranged for alternative transport to bring them to Bristol Airport.”

The Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft took off from Dublin at 3.28pm, but made a landing in Cardiff shortly after a “general emergency” signal was issued.

It is understood that the captain did not declare an emergency onboard, with the flight landing “normally”, reports Wales Online.

Cardiff Airport has been contacted for a comment.
