Meghan Markle is unlikely to ever charm the public as Queen Camilla has, according to one royal expert.

The Duchess of Sussex‘s popularity with the UK audience has been waning since she and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020. Yet, she isn’t the first to face the court of public opinion; Camilla also endured intense scrutiny when her relationship with the then Prince Charles became public.

However, Queen Camilla has successfully revamped her image after years of effort, winning over even her sternest detractors.

This shift comes amidst revelations of Prince Harry’s significant loss in the Royal Family feud, with Meghan perceived as holding significant influence, reports the Mirror.

With the Queen increasing her visibility and showing solidarity with King Charles during his health challenges, her reputation has seen a positive transformation, garnering an expanding base of royal supporters.

Camilla was once viewed negatively by many as “the other woman” due to her intermittent affair with the then Prince Charles during his marriage to Princess Diana.

While Camilla has managed to rehabilitate her public persona, there’s speculation about whether Meghan could achieve a similar turnaround. Nevertheless, a royal expert posits that a key distinction between the two women suggests Meghan may never regain public favor.

During a frank discussion on the podcast Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, royal expert Robert Jobson explained how Camilla successfully transformed public opinion by remaining silent about the criticism she faced, while Meghan has consistently addressed such matters publicly.

Jobson observed: “Through all of the bad times she had, [Camilla] never said a word. She never spoke publicly about anything. That’s what’s likeable about her. She’s a very likeable person. She’s got a great character and she’s not looking for anybody to like her.”

He added: “If Meghan spends her life worrying about whether she’s liked or not invariably [she’ll] end up disappointed because some people like you and some people don’t, that’s just the way it is.”

“So can she turn herself around, Meghan in the UK? I doubt it, I doubt it.”

Jobson further suggested that Camilla’s dedication and readiness to embrace additional royal duties in recent years, without ever voicing complaints, has significantly boosted her standing with the public.
